This month we&#8217;re exploring compensation trends&nbsp;for CVC Unit Leaders and Corporate Venture Business Development (CVBD) Leaders. We particularly look at&nbsp;how the median and 75th percentile in&nbsp;total cash has changed&nbsp;since 2019. Let&#8217;s dive into the data!<br><br><strong>Chart 1&nbsp;<\/strong>shows how the median total cash for CVC Unit Leaders and CVBD Leaders has changed from 2019 to 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>CVC Unit Leaders:<\/strong>\u00a02021 and 2022 were banner years\u00a0with the highest median total cash. The median total cash peaked\u00a0at $433,000 in 2022, before leveling off at $422,150 in 2023.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CVBD Leaders:<\/strong>\u00a0The median total cash peaked in 2020 at $355,000. 2021 was a close-second at $348,800. The last two years have been consistent with the median total cash leveling off at $294,000.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image img-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jthelander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/b35f0440-0056-489d-c963-1621704cbd0d.png\" alt=\"Median Total Cash\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chart 2&nbsp;<\/strong>shows the 75th percentile in total cash for CVC Unit Leaders and CVBD Leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 75th percentile has increased steadily for CVC Unit Leaders since 2019, from $540,000 (2019) to $616,813 (2023).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The 75th\u00a0percentile\u00a0for CVBD leaders peaked in 2021 at $446,250.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image img-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jthelander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/7b7dde2e-8d08-6426-2e5f-1134239adfa2.png\" alt=\"75th %tileTotal Cash\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our Findings:<\/strong><br>Overall, CVC compensation has been stable since 2019, with a slight uptick when the private markets have been at a peak.
