In this month&#8217;s edition,\u00a0we&#8217;ll be exploring different\u00a0hiring trends at CVC units. We&#8217;ll take a look at where new hires come from including how many are internal from the parent company. Let&#8217;s dig into our data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chart 1<\/strong>&nbsp;examines where new hires at CVC firms&nbsp;came from. We see the following insights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Other CVCs are the most popular source of new hires.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizations&nbsp;including undergraduate university, graduate school, and consulting firms have all grown in popularity since 2022.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VC firms, PE firms, investment banks, private companies, and public companies have all decreased in popularity since 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image img-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jthelander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1c455b1c-cf1f-ad98-5b0a-b26799ebbee8.png\" alt=\"From what types of organizations did new hires come from?\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chart 2<\/strong>&nbsp;looks at&nbsp;which CVC roles were filled with&nbsp;people from the parent corporation&nbsp;versus outside the parent corporation. We see the following insights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A decreasing share of CVC positions are getting filled by people from the parent corporation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image img-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jthelander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/21141e72-2318-27f1-adcc-64b72899ed31.png\" alt=\"Which CVC roles were filled with people from parent corporation verses on outside corporation?\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chart 3<\/strong>&nbsp;examines&nbsp;how this changes when looking at a specific job title. We first examine year-over-year for a&nbsp;CVC unit leader.&nbsp;We see the following insights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More than half come from the parent company for CVC unit leaders. Although, this has decreased from 2022 with more CVC units looking to hire from outside the parent corporation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image img-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jthelander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2c7a9203-060a-bf09-dc82-2be3ed3ffad5.png\" alt=\"Which CVC roles were filled with people from parent corporation verses on outside corporation?\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chart 4<\/strong>&nbsp;looks specifically&nbsp;at&nbsp;year-over-year for senior investment professionals.&nbsp;We see the following insights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The percentage of senior investment professionals coming from the parent company has remained steady, after increasing from 2022 to 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The percentage remains lower than&nbsp;for unit leaders and the overall percentage, with 70% of senior investment professionals coming from outside the parent company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image img-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jthelander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/f3ed328c-42ca-a376-1d6a-5477d4bfa1ab.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Thelander Digest is powered by the Thelander CVC Compensation Survey.
